Company Overview

The TMI Difference

As the leading independent U.S. manufacturer of can closing parts, Tool Makers International (TMI) has been producing seamer tooling for the canning industry on a worldwide basis for over 35 years.

TMI's facility in Santa Clara, California is devoted exclusively to the production of replacement parts and related components for the food and beverage industry.

State-of-the-art computer controlled machinery turns out precision ground parts, holding tolerances of one-tenth of one-thousandth of an inch. Using over 60,000 pounds of stainless steel per year, seaming rolls and chucks are manufactured for a variety of can closing machines from vintage models to today's ultra-modern seamers.

In the early 1960's, Tool Makers International opened their business doors to provide tooling to a great number of food canners in a fertile valley 50 miles south of San Francisco, California. The high tech industry gradually transformed the Santa Clara Valley into the Silicon Valley.

In response to that transformation, Tool Makers International expanded their customer base to include not only food and beverage processors, but canners of a wide range of products - from sports equipment, to motor oil, to paint supplies.

TMI's reach is global, with a loyal customer base in the US, Europe, Middle East, South America, Asia, and the Pacific Rim.
