Double groove seaming roll provides two rolls in one

Tool Makers International's double groove seaming roll and P-Pin assembly, designed to work with the Angelus P-type seamer, is reported to be two rolls in one. Two separate profiles are ground onto one part with TMI's P-Pin assembly holding the roll in place. When one profile is worn out, the roll is flipped over and the new, unused profile is ready for a second run. 

The pre-set P-Pin assembly eliminates the need for shimming. Depending on the number of heads on the Angelus seamer, the potential time savings could be several hours according to TMI.

Ball Corp. reportedly uses the system for the production of one gallon paint cans. Custom sizes and specialized coatings are available.
