Double Groove Seaming Roll
Originated by Tool Makers International, the Double Groove Seaming Roll Assembly reduces seamer tooling costs and tooling set-up time on all Angelus P-type seamers. Twin profiles are ground onto one roll to double the life of the seaming roll. Combined with TMI's proprietary P-Pin, installation time is significantly reduced.
 What Does It Do?
The Double Groove Seaming Roll Assembly decreases standard set-up time on Angelus P-type seamers by almost 50% through the use of a specially designed roll and pin assembly. Due to the pre-set feature of the P-pin, there is no need to shim the bearings in the seaming roll. The trial-and-error approach to roll set-up is eliminated. Depending on the number of heads on a seamer, this can potentially save hours of time.
A second key feature lies in the extended life of the seaming roll itself. With a groove profile machined onto both ends of the roll, seamer mechanics can obtain twice the wear out of one seaming roll.

How Does It Work?
The Double Groove Seaming Roll can be thought of as two rolls in one. Two separate profiles exist on one roll with a pin assembly holding the roll in place. As one profile wears out, the seamer mechanic flips the roll over and uses the new, unused profile for a second run. Both the roll and pin are required for the initial product change-over. Once the Double Groove Roll wears out, the P-pin remains on the seamer and only the roll is replaced.
First and Second operation Double Groove Rolls are available pre-assembled.
